Scraptastic Sock Yarn Blanket

I’ve started a sock yarn blanket after telling myself not to for the last 5 or 6 months.  I couldn’t help myself.

I’m waiting on a yarn shipment for a baby gift and needed something small and portable to work on in the car until then.

Oh my gosh.  It’s SO fun!  I played with it  all weekend… and then realized I have a very small stash of fingering weight and have all ready run out of colors.  Whoops.  I eeked out another square by doubling up some lace weight.  I forgot to measure, so I’m not sure how many yards each mitered square takes.  I’m thinking about 5-8 yards.

My lovely blanket may take years to finish as I slowly acquire scraps, but it’ll be a fun project to work on here and there.  It’s going to be quite colourful.

We went to Disney World. It took about half the week before I figured out how to juggle carting the Little Ones around and taking pictures. In the end, I got quite a lot of shots. In no particular order, here’s the first installment of Photo Friday: Walt Disney World Edition.

Sneak Peek- A Bit of Sewing

When I was a girl (which doesn’t seem all that long ago even though I’ll be 29 in a month…), I sewed all the time.  My great grandmother’s green sewing machine and it’s cabinet took up residence in my bedroom and I made doll clothes and patchwork quilts to my heart’s content.

Fast forward to the present day

Greetings from the Jersey Shore

Hello, Dear Readers!  I have not, in fact, dropped off the face of the Earth.

I went to Disney World for a week. I’ve been meaning to post pictures.  I took a bunch, as you can imagine.

My 8 month old came home from vacation in a very clingy, fussy, miserable sort of phase. Unless Mommy was holding her, of course.  :)

That same 8 month old suddenly decided
