Antler- Day 3

My Christmas Eve Day (does that make sense?) deadline is fast approaching.  I can’t believe Christmas is only 6 days away!

Both sleeves of the Antler cardi are finished.  Ella was quite the Mama’s Girl yesterday and all I got done on the body was casting on and knitting one row of ribbing after she finally fell asleep at 11:30 pm.  She wouldn’t sleep unless I was holding her and wanted to nurse all day.  I suspect a growth spurt is the culprit.

I love my Mommy!

This morning, with the help of some pillows, I propped her up and she settled in to eat and snooze while I knitted.  :)  I put on PBS and Hannah enjoyed a few cartoon episodes and a Christmas cookie (shhh!  Don’t tell anyone!) to keep her occupied.

So. . . The body needs to be finished and the sleeves joined by tonight.  If I can start the yoke, too, that would be wonderful!

WiP Wednesday- Antler Baby Cardi

image

After a couple, several, half a dozen false starts, I finally decided on the Antler Cardigan as Ella’s Christmas sweater. I had wasted a good (bad?) three days fiddling with other ideas so I now have 6 days to knit, block, and possibly embroider it.  Thank goodness I’m making the smallest size, but I still foresee late night knitting and copious amounts of coffee to finish on time.  :)

Yesterday, I completed the first sleeve and the ribbing on the second.  Today, the second sleeve needs to finished and the body needs to be at least 1/3 of the way done.

About the pattern: Last year at Christmastime, the designer Tin Can Knits generously offered this pattern for free!  Wasn’t that super sweet of her?!  It’s very well written and has SO many sizes to choose from (0/6 months to 4XL adult)!  I could see myself cozying up in this sweater…. :)

Photo Friday

I promise I’ve been knitting!  A post on Christmas ornaments should be up in a few days… I hope!

Ella discovered her hands yesterday and they must be licked and chewed on.
