Little Knitted Owl Ornaments

Got a bunch of scrap yarn?  These little guys are super fast and fun to knit!  I could make an army of them!

I used Judy’s Magic Cast-On for a neat, seamless bottom and stuffed the owl from the top before finishing the three needle bind-off.  I also used safety eyes (Hobby Lobby, 3 pairs/99¢) instead of buttons.  You can find details about the slight alteration I did on the beak on my Rav page.

Chinese Waves Dishcloths- Finished

image

All finished!  My Mom’s stocking should be nice and full with the addition of these two dishcloths.  I kinda want a few for myself now!  It’s such an easy to memorize pattern (just knit stitches and slipped stitches) and I love the texture.

Photo Friday- Photo Shoot & Outtakes

I’m giving Hubby a desk plaque for Christmas to brighten up his desk at work.  This morning I attempted to get some photos of the girls.  Easier said than done!  But I did manage these:

WiP Wednesday- Chinese Waves Dishcloth

Look!  This proves I’m still knitting.  Barely, but I AM knitting.  I wish I could figure out how to nurse and knit at the same time since that takes up a huge part of my day.  I tried a couple of times, but Ella wasn’t very happy with me.  :)

Anyways… here it is in all its poorly photographed glory:

image

A diagonally knit cloth worked in the Chinese Wave pattern.  I super love this simple design!  I’m making two cloths for my Mom’s Christmas stocking.  She gets them every year so I don’t want to skip.  Even if it takes me two weeks for these little guys.  :)

Oh, I did manage to complete Hannah’s hat, but I’ll be darned if I can get a decent (as in, unblurry) picture of her wearing it.  :/

*****Memories*****

image

A picture of my daughter, Hannah, and a childhood picture of her Mommom Lisa.

My husband’s mother passed away from breast cancer when he was a young boy.  He was incredibly close to her and there are moments when he opens up and talks about her and I get a glimpse into the happiest part of his childhood.

Last night, he told me again how he feels like he’s looking at his Mom when he looks at Hannah and I know that makes him incredibly happy. <3

If you're going to act like a Diva, you should dress like one, too. :)

I think this was Hannah's attempt at a hug. I cut it short since she tends to get a bit rough.
