Amazingly, all that was left in the end was less than one ear's worth. My picky eater LOVES pancakes

  1. Eva is a pancake fanatic, too. I found a recipe for blueberry oatmeal pancakes that I want to make her. Unfortunately she’s going to have to wait a little while. I asked Kai to pick up some oatmeal when he went grocery shopping yesterday, and he came home with those flavored individual instant oatmeals. Not exactly what I was looking for…

    • Haha. Grocery lists have to be VERY specific when you send a hubby out to shop!

Let me know how the pancakes (eventually) turn out. I add flax seed and vital wheat gluten to the basic recipe I have so it’s a little more nutritious with the omega-3 and extra protein (since Hannah doesn’t want to even attempt to try meat).

      • I even went over the list with him before he left! I always get the regular oatmeal that comes in a canister. It’s not like oatmeal is a foreign item to him. He also neglected to pick up a can of green chiles, presumably because he couldn’t find ‘green chili.’

I give Eva peanut butter and Greek yogurt as sources of protein. She’s not a huge fan of meat, either. It depends on the day. Today, for instance, she ate all the broccoli out of my mom’s lunch. I just about fell over. She kept calling them “tree” and was quite pleased that she could hold a tree in her hand and eat it. Hey, whatever floats her boat.

      • P.B. and Greek yogurt are both big staples of Hannah’s diet, too. She loves fishsticks, though, so that’s good. And on rarer occasions, she’ll eat chicken nuggets.

Today, Brian was eating baby carrots and handed one to Hannah…and she actually chewed on it! I think her newest bottom tooth helped. She’s been gnawing on everything the past few days. Lol

      • Oh gosh, fish sticks! Eva eats flounder like it’s her only purpose in life. We actually have to cut her off. She’d eat a pound of it if we let her.

Baby carrots make me so nervous! Eva asks for them because Kai eats them by the bagful, but I’m so scared she’ll choke. I try to find the biggest ones in the bag, and then I hover over her while she’s chewing on them.

      • Lol. Luckily, she only chipped away at the carrot and took tiny nibbles. I’d have been a nervous wreck if she chomped down on one!

I’ve tried steamed carrots, but so far she hasn’t bothered to even put one near her mouth. Oh well. It’ll happen eventually.

      • Yeah, I think cooking them takes all the fun out of eating them. I’ve tried to cook them multiple times, and Eva won’t even touch them. I’ve even had Kai eat cooked ones in front of her. No luck. :( Her tastes seem to change everyday, though, so I’m trying to remain positive.
