Cake Topper

I decided Hannah needed a cake topper on the birthday cake my Mom is baking for her (thanks, Mom!!).  Her party has a Minnie Mouse theme with pinks, white, and black.  Think: subtle Minnie, not cartoon Minnies everywhere.

*My Supplies*

2″ Styrofoam ball
1 1/2″ Styrofoam balls (2)
Toothpicks
1/8″ wooden stick
White glue
Pink spray paint
Bits of ribbon
Scrapbook paper
Hot glue gun

Toothpicks and white glue keep the ears on.

After a couple coats of paint.

Scrapbook paper number and some ribbon.

Now… Who’s ready for some cake? : )

The Easter Dress

I’ve always loved dolls and playing dress up with them.  I mean, I took my American Girl dolls, Felicity and Samantha, with me everywhere I went up until the age of twelve.  I knitted them sweaters with the help of my Mommom and my Mom taught me to sew them clothes.  Side note: I cannot wait to pass all five six of my AG dolls down to Hannah!

Is it any wonder that I was pretty darn excited with the prospect of dressing up an actual little girl?  I don’t have the time or skill to actually make Hannah decent looking clothes at the moment, but I can certainly shop for them! : )

Candy Cane Cardigan

image

A while back, I wrote several posts about a cardigan I was working on for my soon-to-be little girl, Hannah. I figured you guys might like to see the cardigan “in action”. :) This photo was taken back in November at Longwood Gardens in PA (where my darling Hubby proposed to me almost seven years ago). Hannah was about 7 months old and the sweater was still a bit big on her.

Photo Banner

So my little baby isn’t so little anymore! She turns one in April and I’ve been busy menu planning and working on party favors and decorations.

First up: a photo banner showcasing the adorableness of her first twelve months.  Believe me, choosing just ONE photo for every month was tough!

After I managed to narrow my selection down to a dozen, I added them to my Instagram account.  I chose the same filter, “Earlybird”, for all the photos. I emailed the edited versions to myself so I could download them on my computer and print them out.

Month Twelve

I don’t own a fancy photo printer, so I used a regular old ink jet and some heavy card stock.

I printed two photos per page.

Since I’m spending the week at my parents’ house (Hubs is away for work), I took advantage of their handy dandy paper cutter.

All cut out and adorable.

I cut out heart shapes from some scrapbook paper. I’ll use these as spacers in between each picture.

Once I get back home, I’ll string the pictures and hearts up using some crochet cotton.

Zig Zag- Project On Hold

I’ve done zilch, zero, nada work on my zig zag blanket.  Why?  My so-so morning sickness decided to come at me full force.

It’s been nausea 24/7 and keeping food down has been almost impossible.  I can barely function and take care of Hannah at the moment, let alone knit.  It’s times like these that I really, really, really wish I lived closer to my family.  Hubby just left for work so for the next 11 hours I’ll try to not feel like I’m dying.  I’ll also hope and pray she doesn’t have a poopy diaper to send me over the edge.

UPDATE: Oh happy day! My OB is calling in a prescription to the pharmacy. Hubby will pick it up on his way home since he has our car today. Relief may be in sight…
