So I haven’t finished my Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt, yet. But I’m starting another one anyway. =D We have two spare bedrooms and two full size beds that should be making their way up from South Jersey in 2-3 months. That means I’m allowed to make another bedspread. Do you like my logic?
I’ve settled on the Lone-Star patchwork from Martha Stewart’s Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts. I think it’s the perfect way to use Hubby’s old button-downs.

It’s taken me three days to prep the fabric (salvaging the buttons, cutting the seams, ironing), but I’m finally ready to start cutting the diamonds.

What to do with all of Hubby’s too small button-down shirts? ;)
I’ve finally uploaded some pictures of our house! Sure, the bathroom needs to be gutted, the floors need to be refinished, it needs all new windows, the furnace is old, the walls need patching and paint, the dishwasher needs to be replaced, and we don’t even have a clothes dryer… but it’s OURS! We’re looking forward to slowly but surely turning it into our dream house. It’s so much more peaceful than apartment living and going from 675 sq ft to 1,300 is a tad overwhelming. We need some more furniture!

On Saturday, we had 11 of my family members come up to help us move. I am SO grateful they all chose to spend their whole day with us! It made moving day a little less stressful and it was wonderful to see everyone. When you live 2 hours away, you don’t get that many visitors and with gas prices climbing, we don’t get to drive down and visit as often as I would like.
Today is day 4 and I’ve spent about 9 hours a day unpacking and cleaning. It’s still not done! No wonder I’ve lost 3 pounds even though I’ve been eating a lot of pizza and brownies.
The house isn’t quite ready for a photo shoot. Maybe early next week?
